Borrowing elements from comics, we considered using 3 major ones (speech balloons, panels, and type/letters) and 2 minor ones (speed lines, and half-tone pattern).
We explored various shapes and iterations for each element, mixing and matching them noting the combinations that worked and didn’t work.
And after some polls, a few revisions, and cleaning up we ended up with a logo that distills the organization’s love and apprecation for comics.
ABOUT UP GRAIL
University of the Philippines Graphic Arts in Literature or UP GRAIL is a comic book and literature student organization based in the College of Arts and Letters of the University of the Philippines Diliman. The organization is composed of artists, writers, and comic enthusiasts coming from different colleges; all with varied interests, yet united by a common appreciation for comics and literature.
