Arkitektura Shirt

This was a shirt I designed for the University of the Philippines Mindanao, College of Architecture.

In the process of creating the design, I decided to create a typeface out of the large ‘Arkitektura’ (Architecture in Filipino) typography. I named the font Istruktura (Structure).

The shirt design is just a simple mix of typography. A large ‘Arkitektura’, covered with other architecture terms in Filipino. I decided to use Filipino terms, since I’ve never seen people do that. Somehow, using Filipino words gave it an air of sophistication. The two syllables ‘Arki’ is in red because that’s a short term for the Architecture course (Filipinos love to shorten their words).
